SASSA Will Take Services to Fernie Local Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed regarding the substantial range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no sassa absolutely functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The company point produced for intervention encounters a higher inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more resources to permit the servicing of all clients and maximize use of Social Assistance SRD services,” the agency said.
